Rare Canadian Computer Found After Decades In Edmonton Barn

Times of India · technology

A rare Canadian-built computer, the AES Alphaplus 12, has been discovered in its original shipping box after being forgotten in an Edmonton barn for decades. Believed to have been built around 1981, the machine was taken to Carleton University in Ottawa for a public unboxing. Little documentation exists for this specific model, making its internal components and configuration uncertain. The discovery offers a unique opportunity to examine a little-known piece of Canada's early computing history and understand the legacy of AES Data, a significant player in electronic word processing.
