Telangana Plans Exclusive Police Station for Food and Drug Safety Violations

Telangana is planning to establish an exclusive police station under the new Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG-SAFE) to handle serious food and drug safety violations. This facility aims to bolster enforcement by integrating police personnel for security, investigation, and intelligence gathering. Currently, around 80 police personnel are attached to the department, with a committee examining requirements for dedicated posts. This move is expected to strengthen criminal proceedings and deter deliberate food adulteration and fraud in the state.
