Times of India · world
India has strongly condemned attacks on commercial vessels and called for protecting freedom of navigation and unimpeded maritime trade at the United Nations. India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Harish Parvathaneni, stressed the need to safeguard seafarers according to international law. He highlighted how disruptions at critical maritime choke points can have far-reaching consequences, affecting developing nations disproportionately. Parvathaneni also noted the dual role of emerging technologies like AI in enhancing maritime security while posing new vulnerabilities if misused.
