BNP Paribas to keep sensitive data off public

BNP Paribas will not move all sensitive customer data to public cloud infrastructure, despite a new five-year partnership with Google for cloud and AI services. The French bank will retain on-premise systems for highly confidential information, such as medical data from its insurance operations. The deal allows access to Google's public cloud and Gemini models for developing AI agents for internal tasks like credit memos and sales.

बीएनपी पारिबा ने गूगल के साथ पांच साल के नए समझौते के बावजूद, सभी संवेदनशील ग्राहक डेटा को पब्लिक क्लाउड पर नहीं ले जाने का फैसला किया है। बैंक अपनी बीमा सेवाओं से जुड़े मेडिकल डेटा जैसी बेहद गोपनीय जानकारी के लिए अपने मौजूदा सिस्टम का ही इस्तेमाल करेगा। इस डील से बैंक को गूगल के पब्लिक क्लाउड और जेमिनी मॉडल का इस्तेमाल करके आंतरिक कामों, जैसे क्रेडिट मेमो और सेल्स के लिए AI एजेंट बनाने में मदद मिलेगी।
