Priscilla Chan, co-founder of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, shared her family's harrowing escape from Vietnam by boat and their subsequent settlement as refugees. Growing up in an unfamiliar environment, she felt like an outsider and faced bullying, motivating her to work hard for future opportunities. Neither of her parents had attended college, making Harvard seem an unattainable dream. As the first in her family to attend college, Chan later dedicated herself to education and medicine, driven by the challenges faced by underprivileged children.
