केंद्रीय हज समिति ने हज यात्रियों के लिए मेडिकल स्क्रीनिंग सर्टिफिकेट जमा करने की आखिरी तारीख़ बढ़ाकर 30 सितंबर कर दी है। यह फैसला इसलिए लिया गया क्योंकि यात्रियों को मूल समय सीमा पूरी करने में तकनीकी और व्यावहारिक दिक्कतें आ रही थीं। राज्य मंत्री एन. शमसुद्दीन ने अल्पसंख्यक मामलों के मंत्रालय से यह मोहलत मांगी थी। इससे केरल सहित हज़ारों हज यात्रियों को बड़ी राहत मिलेगी।
