Pakistan Army Cautiously Optimistic on US-Iran Mediation Efforts

Pakistan's army is "cautiously optimistic" about ongoing mediation efforts between Iran and the United States, aiming to de-escalate the regional conflict. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the military's spokesman, indicated positive signs in de-escalation attempts, noting the repeated visits of Army Chief Asim Munir to Tehran. He acknowledged the presence of "powerful spoilers and detractors" seeking to obstruct peace. Chaudhry also suggested that Iran could potentially join a joint defence pact signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey if it shares a vision for regional peace.
