Backhoe Loader Kills Two Sleeping Workers

Two guest workers from Chhattisgarh were killed in Perambalur early Sunday morning when a backhoe loader ran over them while they slept near their truck at a petrol bunk. The deceased, identified as R Rubesh Kumar Sori, 25, and R Dakishwar, 21, were helpers with a private borewell installation company. The operator, K Kabil, 20, reportedly failed to see the workers in the darkness while moving the machinery. Police have sent the bodies for postmortem and are investigating the incident.
