Times of India · world
Turkey has officially banned social media access for children under 15, with the new restrictions taking effect on November 1. The law, passed in April and published in the official state journal on October 10, mandates that social media providers implement age-verification measures and safeguards for young users. Platforms are also prohibited from offering services that could foster addiction in children. This move aligns with growing international efforts to protect young people from harmful online content and platform features, addressing concerns like addiction, sleep deprivation, and cyberbullying.
