Leopard Kills Two-Year-Old Boy in Maharashtra Village; Forest Dept Under Fire

A two-year-old boy, Jay Sandip Khandagale, was killed by a leopard in Nhalewadi village, Satara district, on Saturday night. His father reported that the child went outside to urinate and was later found near a dried-up stream with blood marks. Villagers claim they had reported leopard sightings for three months without action from the forest department, and blamed erratic power supply for the incident. MP Udayanraje Bhonsale handed over a Rs 10 lakh compensation cheque and promised action against negligent officials.

शनिवार रात को सतारा जिले के न्हालेवाडी गांव में एक तेंदुए ने जय संदीप खांडगले नाम के 2 साल के बच्चे को मार डाला। उसके पिता ने बताया कि बच्चा पेशाब करने बाहर गया था और बाद में उसे खून के निशान के साथ एक सूखी धारा के पास पाया गया। गांव वालों का दावा है कि उन्होंने तीन महीने से तेंदुए के दिखने की सूचना वन विभाग को दी थी, लेकिन कोई कार्रवाई नहीं हुई, और उन्होंने इस घटना के लिए बिजली की अनियमित आपूर्ति को जिम्मेदार ठहराया। सांसद उदयनराजे भोंसले ने 10 लाख रुपये का चेक सौंपा और लापरवाह अधिकारियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई का वादा किया।
