Farmers, including women, gathered for a Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) mahapanchayat in Lucknow, demanding a hike in sugarcane prices and timely clearance of pending dues. BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait criticized the BJP government, alleging it has failed to protect farmers' interests and is involved in wrongdoing concerning paddy procurement and sugarcane payments. The union highlighted the growing disparity between cultivation costs and agricultural returns, stating that rising input expenses are making farming unsustainable for growers.

लखनऊ में भारतीय किसान यूनियन (बीकेयू) की महापंचायत में महिलाओं सहित किसानों ने गन्ने के दाम बढ़ाने और बकाया भुगतान के समय पर निपटारे की मांग की। बीकेयू प्रवक्ता राकेश टिकैत ने भाजपा सरकार की आलोचना करते हुए आरोप लगाया कि वह किसानों के हितों की रक्षा करने में विफल रही है और धान खरीद और गन्ने के भुगतान के संबंध में गलत काम में शामिल है। यूनियन ने खेती की लागत और कृषि रिटर्न के बीच बढ़ती असमानता पर प्रकाश डाला, यह कहते हुए कि बढ़ते इनपुट खर्चों से किसानों के लिए खेती करना मुश्किल हो रहा है।
