Bihar's First Black Carbon Monitor Installed At CUSB To Study Air Pollution

Bihar's first continuous black carbon monitoring system has been installed at the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) in Gaya. This new-generation Aethalometer will continuously measure black carbon and other light-absorbing aerosols, which are major components of air pollution. The data collected will help scientists study air pollution's impact on clouds, rainfall, and the regional climate. This facility is part of a larger Union ministry of earth sciences program to establish monitoring stations across the Indo-Gangetic Plain and Himalayan foothills.

बिहार का पहला ब्लैक कार्बन मॉनिटरिंग सिस्टम गया के सेंट्रल यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ साउथ बिहार (CUSB) में लगाया गया है। यह नई पीढ़ी का एथेलोमीटर लगातार ब्लैक कार्बन और अन्य प्रकाश-अवशोषित एरोसोल को मापेगा, जो वायु प्रदूषण के मुख्य घटक हैं। इससे वैज्ञानिकों को बादलों, बारिश और क्षेत्रीय जलवायु पर वायु प्रदूषण के प्रभाव का अध्ययन करने में मदद मिलेगी। यह सुविधा इंडो-गैंगेटिक प्लेन और हिमालय की तलहटी में निगरानी स्टेशन स्थापित करने के लिए केंद्रीय पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालय के एक बड़े कार्यक्रम का हिस्सा है।
