Sun Pharma Ordered To Halt Eye Drug Production At Assam Facility

India's drug regulators have ordered Sun Pharmaceutical Industries to cease manufacturing, selling, and distributing ophthalmic products from its Assam facility due to quality lapses. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation and Drugs Controller Assam issued the shutdown order on August 20 following an inspection that identified failures in the quality management system. This action follows Sun Pharma's voluntary recall of approximately 11 eye-care brands in July.

भारत के दवा नियामकों ने सन फार्मास्युटिकल इंडस्ट्रीज को गुणवत्ता में कमी के कारण अपने असम प्लांट से आँखों की दवाओं के निर्माण, बिक्री और वितरण को रोकने का आदेश दिया है। सेंट्रल ड्रग्स स्टैंडर्ड कंट्रोल ऑर्गनाइजेशन और ड्रग्स कंट्रोलर असम ने 20 अगस्त को निरीक्षण के बाद यह शटडाउन आदेश जारी किया, जिसमें गुणवत्ता प्रबंधन प्रणाली में खामियां पाई गईं। यह कार्रवाई जुलाई में सन फार्मा द्वारा लगभग 11 आई-केयर ब्रांडों को स्वेच्छा से वापस मंगाने के बाद हुई है।
