UP Voter List Row: 13 'Vikas Yadav' Entries Surface in Azamgarh; 9 Officials Face Action

Following a previous discrepancy in Uttar Pradesh's electoral rolls, a new issue has emerged in Azamgarh where 13 voter entries in an assembly constituency list shared the Hindi name Vikas Yadav. Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa ordered action against nine election personnel, including five booth-level officers, a computer assistant, and three supervisory officers. Investigations revealed that while English names, photos, and ages were correct, Hindi names were altered. The CEO stated that while intentional wrongdoing hasn't been established, negligence or mischief is suspected, necessitating further inquiry.

उत्तर प्रदेश की मतदाता सूची में पिछली गड़बड़ी के बाद, आजमगढ़ में एक नई समस्या सामने आई है, जहाँ एक विधानसभा क्षेत्र की सूची में 13 मतदाताओं के हिंदी नाम विकास यादव थे। उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी नवदीप रिणवा ने नौ चुनाव कर्मियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई का आदेश दिया है, जिनमें पांच बूथ-स्तरीय अधिकारी, एक कंप्यूटर सहायक और तीन पर्यवेक्षक अधिकारी शामिल हैं। जांच में पता चला कि अंग्रेजी नाम, फोटो और उम्र तो सही थे, लेकिन हिंदी नाम बदल दिए गए थे। सीईओ ने कहा कि जानबूझकर गलत काम का पता नहीं चला है, लेकिन लापरवाही या शरारत का संदेह है, जिसके लिए आगे की जांच की आवश्यकता है।
