A recent clash between Students’ Federation of India and Youth Congress workers at Adoor General Hospital, where Mamkootathil is an accused, has intensified the dispute. Pathanamthitta DCC president Satish Kochuparambil supported Mamkootathil, but this drew sharp objections from district leaders who oppose any support for the former MLA, expelled over sexual abuse allegations. Adoor Block Congress president Abid Shaheem publicly disowned Mamkootathil, stating he no longer represents the party.
