Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta Orders Action On Sewage Dumping Into Tungabhadra River

Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta Justice T Mallikarjuna Rao has taken suo motu cognisance of untreated sewage being dumped into a canal feeding the Tungabhadra river in Kurnool. He has directed the municipal commissioner, police superintendent, and pollution control board to take immediate action. The authorities are tasked with inspecting the area, preventing illegal dumping, ensuring proper disposal, and taking legal action against violators. They must submit action-taken reports within 30 days, with the matter to be reviewed.

आंध्र प्रदेश लोकायुक्त जस्टिस टी मल्लिकार्जुन राव ने कुरनूल में तुंगभद्रा नदी में जाने वाली नहर में बिना उपचारित सीवेज डाले जाने का स्वतः संज्ञान लिया है। उन्होंने नगर आयुक्त, पुलिस अधीक्षक और प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड को तत्काल कार्रवाई करने का निर्देश दिया है। अधिकारियों को क्षेत्र का निरीक्षण करने, अवैध डंपिंग को रोकने, उचित निपटान सुनिश्चित करने और उल्लंघनकर्ताओं के खिलाफ कानूनी कार्रवाई करने का काम सौंपा गया है। उन्हें 30 दिनों के भीतर की गई कार्रवाई की रिपोर्ट जमा करनी होगी, और मामले की समीक्षा की जाएगी।
