Michigan's Brooklyn Dam, standing for 85 years, has been removed in a $2 million project. The 21-acre waterway of the River Raisin, previously 4 to 8 feet deep, has been transformed into a faster-flowing stream. This five-year initiative aimed to restore a natural river system and mitigate risks from the aging dam. The project involved diverting water into a new channel, creating a shallower, more dynamic river. It is expected to improve fish movement and restore native vegetation along the banks.
