China Threatens To Cancel Trump-Xi Summit

China has warned the United States that it could cancel a planned meeting between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping if Washington approves new arms sales to Taiwan. Beijing considers Taiwan a red line in its relationship with Washington and has not ruled out force to control the island. The US provides Taiwan with weapons under the Taiwan Relations Act. An $11 billion arms package was announced last year.
