Doctor Turns Hospital Into Coaching Centre For Tribal Students

Dr N Mageshwaran, a paediatrician in Mettupalayam, has transformed a portion of his Supa Hospital into a free coaching centre for tribal students aiming for civil service exams. Every weekend, around 18 young individuals from the remote Gopanari settlement undertake a 40km journey to attend these classes. Dr Mageshwaran covers all expenses, including travel, meals, and study materials, believing education is the key to overcoming social disparity. He is inspired by his late mother, also a doctor who served the underprivileged.

मेट्टुपालयम के एक बाल रोग विशेषज्ञ डॉ. एन. मणिशंकरन ने अपने सुपा अस्पताल के एक हिस्से को सिविल सेवा परीक्षा का लक्ष्य रखने वाले आदिवासी छात्रों के लिए एक मुफ्त कोचिंग सेंटर में बदल दिया है। हर सप्ताहांत, दूरदराज के गोपनारी बस्ती के लगभग 18 युवा इन कक्षाओं में भाग लेने के लिए 40 किमी की यात्रा करते हैं। डॉ. मणिशंकरन यात्रा, भोजन और अध्ययन सामग्री सहित सभी खर्चों को कवर करते हैं, उनका मानना है कि शिक्षा सामाजिक असमानता को दूर करने की कुंजी है। वह अपनी दिवंगत माँ से प्रेरित हैं, जो एक डॉक्टर थीं और उन्होंने वंचितों की सेवा की थी।
