SC Hears Pleas on Sexual Harassment of Women Journalists, Attacks on Children

The Supreme Court is hearing petitions concerning the sexual harassment of women journalists and attacks on children during protests. The court directed police not to take coercive action against a woman journalist whose molestation complaint is pending. It also ordered law enforcement agencies to preserve and submit CCTV footage of protest-related incidents. The bench, led by the CJI, deemed the allegations of harassment serious and sought a senior Delhi Police officer's explanation.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट महिला पत्रकारों के यौन उत्पीड़न और विरोध प्रदर्शनों के दौरान बच्चों पर हमलों से जुड़ी याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई कर रहा है। कोर्ट ने पुलिस को एक महिला पत्रकार के खिलाफ कोई जबरदस्ती कार्रवाई न करने का निर्देश दिया, जिसकी छेड़छाड़ की शिकायत लंबित है। इसने कानून प्रवर्तन एजेंसियों को विरोध से संबंधित घटनाओं के सीसीटीवी फुटेज को संरक्षित करने और जमा करने का भी आदेश दिया। सीजेआई की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ ने उत्पीड़न के आरोपों को गंभीर माना और दिल्ली पुलिस के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी से स्पष्टीकरण मांगा।
