Over three lakh Punjab government employees observed mass casual leave on Wednesday, disrupting services as talks with the state government failed to resolve pending demands. The Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS, and PRTC Contract Workers’ Union has extended its statewide bus strike indefinitely. Employee representatives met the chief secretary, but the nearly two-hour meeting remained inconclusive. The employees are demanding release of pending dearness allowance, restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, and regularisation of contractual staff, among other issues.
