Bangladesh desires to reset its relationship with India and establish new bilateral engagement based on mutual interests. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir stated that this reset should occur through bilateral discussions, not multilateral forums. He described past ties under deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as "uncomfortable" and expressed a need to move beyond an "excessive preoccupation" with India.
