Indian equity benchmarks closed sideways on Friday, supported by falling crude oil prices and global bond yields. Investor sentiment was boosted by Moody's raising India's FY27 GDP growth forecast to 7%. The Nifty 50 index closed above 23,300, while the S&P BSE Sensex saw a marginal decline. Broader markets outperformed, with midcap and smallcap indices showing strong gains. Metal, media, and realty stocks advanced, contrasting with declines in IT and FMCG sectors.
