Ahead of a planned protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on October 10, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka issued a message to police personnel nationwide. He urged them not to use force against students, questioning their actions and drawing parallels with historical figures like General Dyer and Mangal Pandey. Ranka alleged that police were acting on orders from superiors and questioned the nighttime detentions of students. The CJP also claimed that students en route to the protest from Pune had been detained.
