Germany Sees Rise In Drug Deaths

Germany is facing a surge in organized crime and drug-related deaths, with cocaine posing a significant threat. In 2025, 2,150 people died from drug use, an increase of 13 from the previous year. Authorities seized 10 tons of cocaine, two-thirds in German ports. Money laundering cases also rose, with investigations into nearly €1.4 billion. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt highlighted the exploitation of children and the pervasive danger of cocaine.
