All India Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AIPTMMK) president P Sakkaravarthy announced the expulsion of party general secretary V K Sasikala on Wednesday. Sakkaravarthy cited Sasikala's lack of engagement in nurturing the party and her failure to meet with functionaries and cadres post-assembly elections as reasons for the decision. He stated that her inability to connect with party members made it impossible for her to lead. Sasikala had previously allied with a PMK faction and contested in over 70 constituencies during the recent assembly elections.
