Punjab's Character Not Vandalism: Akal Takht Jathedar

Officiating jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, has condemned recent violence at two universities, stating it is unfortunate and contrary to Punjab's character. He highlighted that while Punjab has a history of student movements, vandalism and destruction are not traditional forms of protest. Gargajj stressed that Punjabi students have never resorted to vandalizing vehicles or setting educational institutions ablaze. He called for a thorough investigation into the incidents to identify those responsible for creating such an atmosphere and urged universities to restore peace on campuses.

अकाल तख्त के जत्थेदार ज्ञानी कुलदीप सिंह गर्गज ने दो विश्वविद्यालयों में हाल ही में हुई हिंसा की निंदा की है। उन्होंने कहा कि यह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है और पंजाब के चरित्र के विपरीत है। गर्गज ने बताया कि पंजाब में छात्र आंदोलनों का इतिहास रहा है, लेकिन तोड़फोड़ और विनाश विरोध के पारंपरिक तरीके नहीं हैं। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि पंजाबी छात्रों ने कभी भी वाहनों में तोड़फोड़ करने या शैक्षणिक संस्थानों में आग लगाने का सहारा नहीं लिया है। उन्होंने ऐसी स्थिति बनाने के लिए जिम्मेदार लोगों की पहचान करने के लिए घटनाओं की गहन जांच का आह्वान किया और विश्वविद्यालयों से परिसरों में शांति बहाल करने का आग्रह किया।
