Social Activist Parvinder Singh Jhota Murder Case: 3 Accused Get 5-Day CBI Custody

Three individuals accused in the murder of social activist Parvinder Singh Jhota have been remanded to five-day custody by a special CBI court in Mohali. A fourth accused, Neelam Rani, was remanded for four days. CBI took over the investigation earlier this week following demands for an independent probe into Jhota's killing. Jhota, who campaigned against drug abuse, was shot dead on October 13 after confronting a medical store owner over alleged drug sales.

मोहाली की एक विशेष CBI अदालत ने सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता परविंदर सिंह झोटा की हत्या के आरोपी तीन व्यक्तियों को पांच दिन की हिरासत में भेज दिया है। एक चौथी आरोपी, नीलम रानी, को चार दिन की हिरासत में भेजा गया है। झोटा की हत्या की स्वतंत्र जांच की मांगों के बाद CBI ने इस सप्ताह की शुरुआत में जांच अपने हाथ में ली थी। नशीली दवाओं के दुरुपयोग के खिलाफ अभियान चलाने वाले झोटा को 13 अक्टूबर को कथित नशीली दवाओं की बिक्री को लेकर एक मेडिकल स्टोर के मालिक से भिड़ने के बाद गोली मार दी गई थी।
