Coding Agents Need Semantic Time, Not Liveness

Coding agents can appear active yet still require human intervention, or seem complete while processing new tasks. This highlights a core issue in agent observability: process liveness differs from semantic state. Understanding an agent's true status goes beyond simply knowing if it's running. This distinction is crucial for effective human-AI collaboration and debugging complex AI systems.
