Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs is solely responsible for determining if satellite internet companies meet India's security compliance requirements. His comments follow allegations by Elon Musk regarding delays in Starlink's launch, which the government has refuted as baseless. Scindia clarified that while three companies, including Starlink, have licenses, operations can only commence after individual security compliance is verified by the Home Ministry. He also denied any monopoly in the sector, noting multiple operators are in the fray.
