Bihar Gram Panchayats Empowered To Levy Taxes

The Bihar cabinet has authorised Gram Panchayats to levy and collect taxes, rates, and fees within their jurisdictions. This decision follows the nod given to the draft “Gram Panchayat Taxes, Rates and Fees Rules, 2026”. The cabinet also approved the delimitation of Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis, and Zila Parishads.

बिहार ग्राम पंचायतों को कर लगाने का अधिकार मिला

बिहार कैबिनेट ने ग्राम पंचायतों को अपने इलाके में टैक्स, दरें और फीस लगाने और वसूलने का अधिकार दे दिया है। यह फैसला "ग्राम पंचायत टैक्स, रेट्स एंड फीस रूल्स, 2026" के ड्राफ्ट को मंजूरी मिलने के बाद आया है। कैबिनेट ने ग्राम पंचायतों, पंचायत समितियों और जिला परिषदों के परिसीमन को भी हरी झंडी दे दी है।
