Birds Fly Away Faster From Men Than Women, Scientists Puzzled

A new international study published in the 'British Ecological Society' journal reveals that birds tend to fly away from men more quickly than from women. Researchers observed that birds allow men to approach about a meter closer on average compared to women. This behavior was consistent across 37 bird species in urban environments across countries like Czechia, France, Germany, Poland, and Spain. While scientists believe urban birds can differentiate between genders, the specific cues they use and why they are more vigilant around women remain unclear.

ब्रिटिश इकोलॉजिकल सोसाइटी' जर्नल में छपी एक नई अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्टडी बताती है कि चिड़ियाँ पुरुषों से महिलाओं की तुलना में ज़्यादा जल्दी उड़ जाती हैं। रिसर्च करने वालों ने देखा कि चिड़ियाँ पुरुषों को महिलाओं की तुलना में औसतन लगभग एक मीटर और करीब आने देती हैं। यह बर्ताव चेकिया, फ्रांस, जर्मनी, पोलैंड और स्पेन जैसे देशों के शहरी इलाकों में 37 चिड़ियों की प्रजातियों में एक जैसा पाया गया। हालाँकि वैज्ञानिक मानते हैं कि शहरी चिड़ियाँ लिंगों के बीच अंतर कर सकती हैं, लेकिन वे किन संकेतों का इस्तेमाल करती हैं और महिलाओं के आसपास ज़्यादा सतर्क क्यों रहती हैं, यह अभी साफ़ नहीं है।
