Poet Says Cinema Lacks Socio-Political Impact

Poet-lyricist Rafeeq Ahamed has observed a decline in meaningful socio-political cinema, stating it's being replaced by crime and violence. He believes cinema has become mere entertainment, lacking lasting emotional or intellectual impact. Ahamed made these remarks during the inauguration of celebrations for the 100th screening of Kolazhy Cinema Kottaka in Thrissur.

कवि-गीतकार रफीक अहमद ने कहा है कि सार्थक सामाजिक-राजनीतिक सिनेमा में गिरावट आई है। उनकी जगह अब अपराध और हिंसा वाली फिल्में ले रही हैं। उनका मानना है कि सिनेमा सिर्फ मनोरंजन बनकर रह गया है, जिसका कोई गहरा भावनात्मक या बौद्धिक प्रभाव नहीं पड़ता। ये बातें उन्होंने त्रिशूर में कोलाझी सिनेमा कोट्टा के 100वें शो के उत्सव के उद्घाटन के मौके पर कहीं।
