This operation occurred as a six-day local ceasefire in the embattled town of Oleshky and its surroundings was nearing its midnight expiry. The ceasefire, facilitated by Melania Trump and Pope Leo, allowed for de-mining and the delivery of essential supplies. Governor Oleksandr Prokudin urged residents to remain vigilant due to the high intensity of Russian strikes in nearby areas.
