India Unlikely to Face Major Food, Fertiliser Crisis: Finance Commission Chairman
Times of India · business
India is unlikely to face a significant food or fertiliser crisis despite global conflicts, according to Finance Commission Chairman Arvind Panagariya. He stated that the country has strengthened its fertiliser supplies through domestic production and diversified imports, and has successfully managed recent energy shocks. Panagariya noted that India's ability to absorb such shocks is increasing. He also suggested that disruptions from countries like Ukraine could potentially boost demand for Indian food exports, benefiting local exporters.
