These resignations stem from the allure of permanent employment, with some representatives securing positions abroad, part-time government roles, or appointments as anganwadi supervisors and ministerial staff. The monthly honorarium of ₹8,000 for panchayat members is cited as insufficient, making elected positions financially unattractive.
