Mishra stated that overseeing religious sites was part of his duties during his Air Force career, managing over 50 religious places across bases. He emphasized that managing temples is a matter of duty and personal dharma, not for publicity.

राम मंदिर के नए सीईओ, रिटायर्ड एयर मार्शल जीतेंद्र मिश्रा ने सोशल मीडिया पर हो रही आलोचनाओं का जवाब दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि एयर फ़ोर्स में रहते हुए 50 से ज़्यादा धार्मिक स्थलों की देखरेख करना उनके काम का हिस्सा था। मिश्रा ने ज़ोर देकर कहा कि मंदिरों का प्रबंधन करना उनका कर्तव्य और धर्म है, न कि प्रचार का माध्यम।
