Karnataka Schools Seek Transparent Formula For RTE Reimbursements
Times of India · education
The Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka (KAMS) has approached the Karnataka High Court seeking a transparent formula for reimbursements under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act. KAMS argues that the current reimbursement rates, fixed eight years ago at Rs 16,000 for primary and Rs 8,000 for nursery classes, are insufficient due to rising costs. The association estimates per-child expenditure could be between Rs 60,000-80,000 annually.
