The Bombay High Court stated it will not permit detentions that violate the law while hearing a petition regarding the Mumbai Police's actions during protests against the Chief Election Commissioner. The court directed the petitioner to provide specific instances of unlawful detentions on record. The petition claims approximately 900 individuals, including bystanders and women, were detained on October 10 and 11. It also alleges people were picked up from their homes despite previous FIRs being quashed by the Supreme Court. The court adjourned the matter for further hearing.
