NASA Satellite Reveals Australia's Giant Spider Crater Formed by Ancient Meteor Impact

Times of India · science

NASA's Landsat 9 satellite has captured a striking image of Spider Crater in Western Australia's Kimberley region, revealing its uncanny resemblance to a giant spider. This unique landscape, measuring approximately 13 km by 11 km, was formed by a meteor impact hundreds of millions of years ago. The spider-like pattern is composed of durable sandstone ridges, remnants of a central uplift that have survived millions of years of erosion.
