The Bihar Museum in Patna has achieved a remarkable feat, securing the ninth position globally in the World's 100 Best Museums 2026 list. This ranking also makes it the top-ranked museum in Asia, outperforming renowned institutions like the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The museum, which is less than a decade old, is particularly celebrated for housing the ancient Didarganj Yakshi statue, often referred to as Bihar's Mona Lisa. This recognition highlights the growing international stature of Indian cultural heritage sites.
