This commitment eases concerns within the $65 billion industry, which includes major players like Pernod and Diageo. New Delhi had recently begun investigating companies, stating that bulk Scotch imports were not eligible for the agreed tariff reduction. However, industry representatives were informed in a recent meeting that bulk Scotch whisky imports are indeed part of the trade deal concessions, signalling a potential resolution.
