The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has called for a hartal in Palakkad district's ecologically sensitive areas on November 6, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are demanding revisions to the draft notification declaring parts of the Western Ghats as an Ecologically Sensitive Area (ESA). The farmers' group alleges the notification, issued on July 27, includes residential areas and agricultural lands. They seek a scientific assessment to ensure only forest areas are protected, excluding settlements and farms.

संयुक्त किसान मोर्चा ने पालक्काड़ जिले के इको-सेंसिटिव इलाकों में 6 नवंबर को सुबह 6 बजे से शाम 6 बजे तक हड़ताल बुलाई है। वे पश्चिमी घाट के कुछ हिस्सों को इकोलॉजिकली सेंसिटिव एरिया (ESA) घोषित करने वाली ड्राफ्ट नोटिफिकेशन में संशोधन की मांग कर रहे हैं। किसान समूह का आरोप है कि 27 जुलाई को जारी की गई नोटिफिकेशन में रिहायशी इलाके और खेती की ज़मीनें भी शामिल हैं। वे चाहते हैं कि केवल जंगल वाले इलाकों को सुरक्षित रखा जाए, बस्तियों और खेतों को छोड़कर, इसके लिए वैज्ञानिक मूल्यांकन किया जाए।
