Bhalswa Landfill Clearance Deadline Extended For Sixth Time To February 2027

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has extended the Bhalswa landfill clearance deadline for the sixth time, now setting it for February 2027. Over 10 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste still need to be cleared from the site. This delay is attributed to logistical issues during the transfer of the waste processing contract to a new agency. The civic body has submitted a revised action plan to the Delhi government, while deadlines for Okhla and Ghazipur remain December 2026 and December 2027 respectively.

Municipal Corporation of Delhi ने भलस्वा लैंडफिल से कचरा हटाने की समय सीमा छठी बार बढ़ा दी है, अब यह फरवरी 2027 तक कर दी गई है। साइट से अभी भी 10 लाख मीट्रिक टन से ज़्यादा पुराना कचरा हटाना बाकी है। इस देरी का कारण कचरा प्रोसेसिंग कॉन्ट्रैक्ट को नई एजेंसी को ट्रांसफर करने में आई लॉजिस्टिकल दिक्कतें हैं। सिविक बॉडी ने दिल्ली सरकार को एक संशोधित एक्शन प्लान सौंपा है, जबकि ओखला और गाजीपुर के लिए समय सीमा क्रमशः दिसंबर 2026 और दिसंबर 2027 है।
