Delhi HC: Fear of False Declaration for Voter Form is Misplaced

The Delhi High Court has stated that voters need not fear being accused of making a false declaration when using Form 6 to restore their names to the electoral roll. This is because the direction to use this form after exclusion during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process comes directly from the Election Commission. The court made this observation while dismissing a petition from two individuals whose names were removed from the electoral roll after they failed to complete the SIR enumeration due to a change in residence.
