Veteran actor Nana Patekar once told Anil Kapoor that he felt 'bullied' during the casting of the 1989 film 'Parinda'. Patekar revealed he had initially rehearsed for the role of Jackie Shroff's elder brother, but Anil Kapoor suggested Shroff for the part. Despite initial disappointment, Patekar acknowledged that this led him to play the memorable character Anna. Anil Kapoor explained he believed Jackie Shroff was a better fit for the brother role, though the final decision rested with the director. Patekar also noted Shroff's performance earned him a Filmfare Award.
