He clarified that his father, Nana Patekar, was not alone or unwell in his final days, contrary to viral misinformation. Malhar highlighted his father's remarkable fitness, noting he was active and exercised for two and a half hours daily. Nana Patekar passed away at 75 in Goa after a cardiac arrest and received a state funeral.
