Paris police have imposed a new curfew for parts of the city, effective from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The measure follows a similar curfew the previous night, which authorities stated helped restore calm after weekend riots and looting. The fresh curfew will be in effect from 2100 GMT Tuesday to 0400 GMT Wednesday. It specifically targets the Republique public square and the central les Halles shopping district, areas that experienced significant clashes over the weekend.
