Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced a forensic investigation into audio clips released by Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange-Patil. The clips allege a BJP conspiracy to influence the 2024 assembly elections, with one purportedly mentioning ₹500 crore paid to Jarange-Patil. The probe will examine the authenticity of the recordings and the motives behind their release after two and a half years. Jarange-Patil presented the clips as evidence of a conspiracy to weaken the Maratha reservation movement and tarnish his reputation.
