Karnataka HC Seeks Govt Explanation For 16-Year Delay In Nurse's Caste Certificate

Times of India · india

The Karnataka High Court has issued a show-cause notice to the state government for failing to issue a caste validity certificate to a nurse for over 16 years. This prolonged delay has left the nurse, Anusuya P Koti, receiving a consolidated salary of Rs 10,000 monthly, despite a 2011 court order. The court questioned why officers responsible for the delay should not compensate the nurse for her financial loss. It also sought reasons for exemplary costs due to administrative lethargy and the employee's suffering despite repeated representations and court directives.
